ATTENDEES: Muhammad Maruf, Leah Webb, Elaine Edwards, Lucille Stewart, Andrea Gadson, Chris

SCRIBE: Leah webb

BUSINESS: We nee to spend more time on in-meeting writing.  This is a writing group.   We all need to take the initiative to put writing on the blog.  We need to rethink about our structure as a group.  Why did we form? People need to be more responsible with both coming to the meetings and contacting others to cover for them if they can't attend.  Do we still have a clear goal for what we are as a group and what we want to be doing?  What is our agenda for education?  Should it be restructured?

THE RUBBER BAND by Leah

Lonely, pale, lying below

Longing to do it's job

But without help,  just lays there

Remembering when it was vibrant with color

Stretching to fit so much beauty

Now it's limp, tangled up with all the mess of my life.

I can't remember the last time we were together

What does it feel Knowing it's purpose in life has become obsolete?

In this world of technology, does it long for the days in which it reigned supreme,

Holding together all the various possessions that seem to envelope my life?

Or is it willing to put away all it's burdens

Letting the newcomer to my desk take the reigns while he finally rests?

Understanding he is now fragile, older

But if the day comes once again that he is called forth,

Will he be willing to do the job for which he was created.

WE MUST PART by Leah W

MY RESPONSE TO THAT DREADED ALARM CLOCK!

Part of me wonders if throwing away what we have is the right thing to do.  For years you gave me what I asked.  At least you tried to.  But in time you began to wear me out.  I never knew what mood you would be in whenver I entered the room.  Would you be smiling?  Or would there be a frown marking your face?

Early in the morning a frown would show.  That's alright because I am not a morning person either.  I was happy when a few hours later you would be smiling as if everything was ok.  Thinking all is fine I would come back later to look at you and yet again it seems as if you were angry.  Your mouth was turned down  Had I done something wrong?  All day it would go like this. Up and Down.

But this morninng was the last straw.  I did nothing to set you off.  I was awaken to a loud shrieking yell.  It was dark out still and I desperately needed to sleep.  I had an important meeting and needed to be rested.  But there you were angrily yelling at me.  You never stopped until I hit you over the head, knocking you to tthe ground.  I do not want to end a relationship in violence, so we must part.
