Thr3e

Ted Dekker, best-selling author of Blink has done it yet again. Thr3e is an edge of your seat thriller that will keep you flipping pages as fast as you can. From the first chapter you will meet Kevin, an innocent impressionable man who is attending a seminary in California. While driving down the highway, he answers his cell phone to hear a mysterious voice. He is told to “confess his sin” and he hurriedly parks the car and jumps out, narrowly escaping the explosion. From that moment on, you will encounter numerous twists and turns as Kevin continues receiving phone calls consisting of riddles and demands for his confession. Kevin is soon reunited with his childhood friend, Samantha, as she helps solve the riddles and rekindles their past.
You will also meet Jennifer, an investigative agent who had previously been hot on the trail of the elusive “Riddle Killer.” Wondering if this is the same man and longing for revenge she joins the race against time to capture Kevin’s stalker and stop the final bomb that could change all of their lives.
I highly recommend that teens read the book first– but in case you can’t sit still long enough, Thr3e, the major motion picture is set to open in theatres January 5, 2007.

The Open Door

The Open Door by Evanescence is a dark CD, continuing with their tradition of both grunge guitar and soft piano. It is a much heavier CD then Fallen, their other solo album. In every song there is a distinct crunch sound that blends well will Amy Lee’s Goth lyrics. I didn’t notice as much choral arrangement in this album, but that could just be because I have listened to Fallen many more times. Lee could stand a little more imagination in her song titles, but then, couldn’t everybody? If you can stand depressing vocals, this CD is well worth the buy, and a good follow up to Fallen.
