The Open Door

The Open Door by Evanescence is a dark CD, continuing with their tradition of both grunge guitar and soft piano. It is a much heavier CD then Fallen, their other solo album. In every song there is a distinct crunch sound that blends well will Amy Lee’s Goth lyrics. I didn’t notice as much choral arrangement in this album, but that could just be because I have listened to Fallen many more times. Lee could stand a little more imagination in her song titles, but then, couldn’t everybody? If you can stand depressing vocals, this CD is well worth the buy, and a good follow up to Fallen.
